The Rafi & Olga FW16 collection draws its inspiration from the works of mid-century American artists together known as the  “New York School”.  The large, tonal, black-and-white gestural shapes of Abstract Expressionism and avant-garde minimalism by the likes of Franz Kline, Mark Rothko and Frank Stella, among others, set out to explore innovation in the creation of art. The collection uses acrylic and oil paint on suede and denim fabric to investigate the future of modern menswear as a hybrid of casual and smart, tailored and sporty, industrial and cosmopolitan. It continues to build on the clean cut traditional construction of past collections by incorporating the idea of movement and the ability to be serious with hints of nonchalance.
